In the midst of cooperation between universities and industries, various axes of collaboration can be identified based on the mission of university.

Consolidation of the relationship between industries and universities and familiarization of them with each other's needs and abilities as well as creation of a suitable environment among their professionals to remove the obstacles and bottlenecks throughout sustainable development have constantly drawn the attention of statesmen and experts.

The Office of Industry and Society Relations is taking steps to facilitate and improve the relationship of academicians with industry and society in order to achieve self-sufficiency, meet the needs of industry and society, and improve the capabilities of students and graduates in line with the needs of society.

• Promoting scientific and technological achievements and communication with industry and society so as to achieve self-sufficiency;
• Strengthening and enriching knowledge on industry and society needs;

• Using the capabilities and potentials of the University to meet the research and technology needs of industry and society and providing consulting services to the executive bodies and industry of the country;
• Laying the necessary grounds for the generation and progression of science and technology needed by the country by conducting demand-oriented, customer-oriented and effective research in society and industry with respect to national goals.
• Quantitative and qualitative improvement of the University's liaison with economic centers and industry at the international, national and provincial scale;
• Legislating the way academicians communicate with centers outside the University;

• Promoting and facilitating communication of professors and students with industries and organizations;
• Creating incentives to encourage academicians to cooperate with industries and organizations;
• Introducing the capabilities and potentials of the University to industries and organizations for solving their problems;
• Active participation in research exhibitions with the aim of distinguished selected research projects of the University;
• Holding joint meetings between faculty members and industrial managers, officials of organizations, etc. and the board of directors of industrial and agricultural townships.
• Establishing effective communication with industries to procure industrial projects, promote apprenticeships, and help implement the law on the maximum use of technical and engineering capabilities and the Technical Knowledge Procurement Bill;
• Facilitating the use of the University’s facilities for industrial centers and vice versa.

Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences, several years after obtaining a leading position in the field of research and achieving the goals of second generation universities, decided to take a purposeful and powerful step to move towards third and fourth generation universities by establishing an office of industry and society relations at the Vice-chancellor for Research and Technology.

Obviously, these goals will be realized through the University's constructive interactions with industry and society, conducting problem-oriented research and providing skill-oriented training.

As well, the two-way and constructive interaction of faculty members and experts with industry and other sectors of society will lead to the all-round development of various fields of knowledge, applied research and technology and the resolution of society’s problems, especially in the current oppressive embargo-inflicted milieu.
